Looking ahead to May 8, the day the Government set itself the limit to wait for the bondholders' response to the debt offer, Alberto Fernández said: "I hope I don't fall into default, if we have to default ... the truth is that we receive a country in default. "

In dialogue with Truth Consequence (TN), Fernández said that during the previous government, when they started talking about reprofiling, "it was the Macrist language version of what was called reprogramming."

He continued: "We do not want to be in default, we have made a very sustainable proposal to the creditors. And the creditors are not losing with our proposal, they are only earning less."

This Monday, the most important businessmen in the country had asked the President that the Government do everything possible so that Argentina does not go into default in the framework of the renegotiation of the debt with the bondholders.

At the meeting, called by Alberto Fernández in the Quinta de Olivos to show the support of the sectors of the economy and work for the renegotiation of the debt with private creditors, the heads of the CGT were also present.

The meeting in Olivos was attended by the holders and representatives of the Argentine Industrial Union, the Chamber of Commerce, the Construction Chamber, the CGT, the Association of Banks of the Argentine Republic, the Rural Society and the Stock Exchange. .
