Montereau: motorist drags police over 20 meters to escape control

2020-05-05T19:51:01.881Z

Without a driver's license or certificate, a motorist dragged a policeman holding onto his car for around 20 meters to escape

Roadside checks related to containment and coronavirus can sometimes turn sour. Police officers from the Montereau police station (Seine-et-Marne) noticed this on Sunday during the muscular arrest of a Chechen, almost 30 years old. The latter will be tried in January 2021.

It all starts around noon on Sunday in the Montereau industrial area. The police intercept a motorist and ask him for his certificate. Man does not have one. Nor does he have ID and a driver's license. Leaning near the driver's window, the policeman tells him to follow him to the police station. But the man begins to turn his ignition key ...

The grievor tries to take it away from him. Too late ! The man bursts out at the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo, misses hitting a policewoman, and drags his colleague for around twenty meters. He finishes his race further, against a mound of earth. The motorist flees on foot. He crosses a fence, then enters the enclosure of a warehouse. Police reinforcements arrive from the Moret and Fontainebleau police stations. The municipal police of Montereau is also mobilized.

The fugitive enters a disused warehouse. Police surround the site. And see it on the roof! The policeman dragged by the car then intervenes and succeeds in arresting him, accompanied by his colleagues from Moret.

Two other cases on its liabilities

At the police station, the driver claims that he does not live here, but was visiting family members. The police officer dragged by the car and his colleague, who was almost hit, file a complaint against him.

The prosecution of Fontainebleau puts him under investigation for lack of driving license, refusal to comply, violence against person holding authority with weapon by destination having caused a total incapacity for work for three days (the police) and the same count prosecution without ITT for his colleague.
