2020-05-05T16:45:47.474Z

The distribution of masks ordered by the Ile-de-France local authorities will start this week. Find, department

The stock of masks sold since Monday at the supermarket closest to your home is hopelessly empty each time you pass? No worries, from this week, the Ile-de-France communities which have placed orders to equip their citizens are starting their distributions.

Who can claim it? How and when to recover these masks? How much will be donated per capita? What kind of model, disposable or reusable? To help you find your way around, we compile here the distribution conditions for each department.

A drop-off distribution in Paris

In the capital, where the most fragile people have been equipped with priority for a few days, it will be necessary to wait before being able to recover the free cloth mask promised by the City. Distributions will begin on May 11 and will be spread over five weeks "to avoid early deconfinement," according to Jean-François Martins, deputy mayor of Paris. Parisians can recover this protection in pharmacies after registering on the City website.

In the meantime, some borough mayors have already started distributing masks offered by the region, especially at the entrance to metro stations, and have transformed their premises into manufacturing workshops where volunteers can make masks for their fellow citizens.

The Hauts-de-Seine are in the starting blocks

In the Hauts-de-Seine, to provide residents with masks while respecting social distancing, the majority of the 36 municipalities have opted for prior online registration followed by distribution by time slots at different collection points. It starts this week in certain cities, notably in Boulogne, Bourg-la-Reine, Colombes or Clamart.

The only exception, Marnes-la-Coquette, which currently only has a stock of 500 masks, initially favors residents resuming their work on May 11, before expanding its distribution to the entire population in from May 21. Other cities have preferred a deposit in letter boxes, such as Courbevoie, Malakoff or Puteaux. This is also the case for the elderly or vulnerable, in order to avoid their displacement.

In Val-de-Marne, we honk the arrival of masks

Outdoor collections to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, deposit in mailboxes, mailing… The distribution of masks is organized in the towns of Val-de-Marne, where the departmental council will also deliver 1.5 million , at the rate of one mask per inhabitant.

Note that in Bry-sur-Marne, whose tour started this week, the inhabitants, invited to be ready on their doorstep at the times indicated by the city to collect their masks, will be notified of the arrival municipal officials… by a horn signal!

Seine-Saint-Denis favors door-to-door

Strongly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the 40 municipalities of Seine-Saint-Denis are organizing themselves as best they can, but some are still awaiting the delivery of their masks.

They will be distributed in schools for children on the day they resume classes, and the vast majority by deposit in mailboxes or door-to-door, "because the mailboxes are failing," says the town hall from Clichy-sous-Bois. Families can request additional masks afterwards.

In Villetaneuse, if hundreds of protective bands have already been distributed to the most vulnerable, the first delivery intended for the general public, which was to arrive this week, is currently "blocked at the borders of Croatia", the municipality said on Tuesday. The home delivery device is therefore suspended for the moment.

In the Yvelines, Houilles spends 300,000 euros on masks

The departmental council of Yvelines has ordered 1.5 million masks, which have been distributed since Tuesday in cities with less than 15,000 inhabitants, or two per person. The 33 municipalities with more than 15,000 inhabitants have set up their own system.

Among these, Houilles is the most "masked" in the department with 160,000 units ordered. For Mayor Alexandre Joly, this is "an absolute priority". For an amount of 300,000 euros, it can therefore provide "almost three masks per person" to its inhabitants.

Essonne targets public transport users

Good students, most of the 30 largest municipalities in Essonne have equipped their inhabitants at the end of April with disposable masks and will offer fabric masks from this week. They will be delivered to collection points, door-to-door or by post, with, for example, the municipal magazine as in Longjumeau. The city of Morsang-sur-Orge, it decided to give in addition visors to children, teachers and staff of its schools on May 11.

The department will also destock this Tuesday 400,000 surgical masks for Essonnians who take public transport, and distribute masks to cities and public establishments of inter-municipal cooperation to cover the whole territory "in two weeks".

One to two masks per person in Val-d'Oise

In the main towns of Val-d'Oise, residents will receive one or two masks per person. They must present themselves at collection points defined with documents proving their place of residence. Thus, in Argenteuil, they will have to go to the polling station corresponding to their domicile with their last income tax notice. Other town halls prefer the post or letter box deposit.

In Seine-et-Marne, the voluntary couturiers ensured

The date of May 11 is approaching and in Seine-et-Marne, if some of the 30 main municipalities in the department have already started distributing masks to the population, others are still juggling delivery times. As in Mitry-Mory, where the order from the municipality for 53,000 cloth masks (washable and reusable) from providers is slow to arrive.

Fortunately, most of these municipalities can already count on an army of small volunteer hands, working for several weeks to provide caregivers, the elderly and the general public in reusable masks. This is particularly the case in Champs-sur-Marne, where alternative fabric masks are made by the network of solidarity seamstresses.

After the "drive corona", the mask drive in the Oise

In Oise, Beauvais uses the drive principle to give masks to vehicle drivers and pedestrians. Many municipalities will do the same.

If some cities are still waiting to know the arrival of their orders to organize distributions, others have chosen to stagger deliveries, starting with the vulnerable, traders and employees returning to work before expanding the system to the rest of the population.
