Emergency regulations for Lag B'Omer were approved

The government approved a series of amendments to the Emergency Regulations (activity restriction) which contain restrictions for preventing congregation and contagion around Lag Ba'omer events. The lighting of fires and stays near campfires throughout the country will be prohibited, except for fires that will be held in Mount Meron under special guidelines.
According to the announcement, the regulations for Lag Omer will be valid from May 13 to 7, during which a gathering ban will no longer be allowed to light fires across the country. In addition, no stay in Mount Meron will be allowed - except for residents or people required to reach it during work, and there will be a ban. About renting accommodation and accommodation in Mount Meron.
Also, between May 17-14, entry and stay will be prohibited in the confined area of the Rashbi tomb and the settlement of Meron.
The announcement stated that no public transport will be operated on Mount Meron - except for local residents or allowed campfires.
"Instead of Lag Omer events that are used each year at the Rashbi tomb complex on Mount Meron, the Minister of Religious Services will allow the existence of three fires in the Rashbi tomb area, which will be held on a special permit, separately and at different times. The number of participants in each lighting event may not exceed 50 persons. The Minister for Religious Services will give equal representation to various communities, including appropriate representation for women, "the statement said, stating that any violation of any of the Lag Lag Omar regulations would constitute a punishable offense.
