The United States again recorded more than 2,000 additional deaths from the coronavirus in 24 hours on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 73,095 deaths since the start of the pandemic, according to a count by Johns Hopkins University. These 2,073 additional deaths were recorded between 8:30 p.m. local Wednesday and the day before at the same time by the university, which updates its data continuously.

The United States also has more than 1.22 million officially diagnosed cases, including some 190,000 people declared cured. They performed more than 7.75 million screening tests, from the same source.
