Update from May 7: The man who is said to have attacked an ARD camera team during corona protests in Berlin is apparently at large again. The man was released after police operations were completed, a police spokesman said on Thursday. A criminal complaint has been filed against the 46-year-old for assault. 

The man is said to have tried to kick the sound assistant of the ARD camera team , but only hit the microphone rod. This then hit the head of the cameraman. 

According to the police, the attacker had tried to escape, but was then arrested. 

A video of the incident is currently circulating on Twitter. It can be seen how the alleged perpetrator separates and kicks from the crowd. Some protesters shouted "lie press".

A few days after the attack on a ZDF team, an ARD camera team was attacked during a demonstration in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin.

Corona virus in Germany: demonstration in Berlin

According to a police spokeswoman, 350 to 400 people had gathered in front of the Reichstag building. They apparently followed a call on social media . Because of the corona pandemic *, demos with up to 50 participants are currently allowed in Berlin.
