Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi confirmed today that Iraq will not be a passage or headquarters for terrorism or a springboard for attacking any neighboring or friendly country.

And Al-Sumaria News website quoted Al-Kazemi as saying, upon receiving the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, Erg Masjdi: “Iraq is keen on establishing the best relations with Iran and all neighboring countries in a way that serves the interests of the two neighboring countries and security and stability in the region.”

For his part, the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad congratulated Al-Kazemi on the occasion of his government's confidence in the House of Representatives, expressing his country's aspiration to develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

During his meeting with the American ambassador in Baghdad, Matthew Toler, Al-Kazemi confirmed that Iraq would not be an arena for settling accounts, and stressed the need for cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various fields.

Last Thursday, the Iraqi parliament granted its confidence to the new government headed by Al-Kazemi, by supporting 15 ministers, while voting on some candidates was postponed and others were rejected.
