Tading - Stefan Miklos is a freelance coach, business mediator and trainer. He volunteers at the DLRG Erding and in the ambulance service - and since Easter also in the parish association Maria Tading. The 45-year-old Hohenlindener completed additional training as a state-certified disinfector around 25 years ago. He is now using this knowledge at the services that Pastor Christoph Stürzer and the Forster Youth Church have been streaming live on the Internet since Easter.

Mr. Miklos, what are your tasks as a disinfector?

The primary task is to monitor hygiene in the ambulance service, write hygiene plans, select the appropriate disinfectants - in other words, to ensure that everything is clean in the emergency services.

Now you are also working in the Tadingen church. How did that happen?

I have known Pastor Stürzer for a very long time, and at some point he told me that he was looking for someone who would observe hygiene at church services. So I offered myself on a voluntary basis and take over the hygiene monitoring in the church, so to speak.

What does this work look like?

I attend every service. At the very beginning, I explained to the participants how to properly wash and disinfect hands. As an average consumer, you don't really know that. It was also about maintaining safety distances and explaining how to put on and take off mouth-nose protection properly. We are now a well-established team. We have been doing this since Palm Sunday, so everyone knows what to do and what to leave. I am now only the control body, which sits on the gallery and provides advice in the event of changes in requirements.

The parish association has decided to initially do without public services. Why?

When this permission came from the archdiocese and the state government, together with Pastor Stürzer, I created or expanded a security concept for risk assessment. What can we do and what not? It is nice when the churches are opened, but under what risk potential? Can we be held responsible for the fact that a chronically ill lung patient who wants to attend mass really goes into church? After many hours of planning and discussion in various committees, it turned out that all of this would be an immense effort and that we could not fully guarantee the security against possible infection. Disinfection dispensers would be needed for the visitors, who would have to bring and wear their own masks. The safety distances, two meters from each person, would have to be observed. The doors should not be locked for fire protection, but on the other hand all exits would have to remain closed except for one to control the influx. For this you would need several folders, which are also subject to possible infection. You and the pastor would need FFP2 masks and goggles. But they are better off in emergency services than in the church. You would have to work with place cards and lists of names - sensitive when it comes to data protection. And every contact surface would have to be disinfected before and after the trade fair.

At the Floriani Office on Sunday, May 10th, not only the well-rehearsed team will be there.

That's right, this service is another challenge. For the first time, external people are there. So we measured and planned all of this in advance. It took us a good two hours to plan the walking routes this week alone. There will be a test run on Saturday to see if everything really fits. A separate parking space was marked on the floor for each flag bearer. Every single external contributor is instructed on this day where to go, when and how. An enormous logistical effort.

The interview was conducted by Vroni Macht.
