A 19-year-old young man faces charges of dangerous driving for driving at an "incredible" speed of 308 km / h on an Ontario highway, police in this Canadian province said Sunday. "This is the worst speeding ticket I have heard of," said Sergeant Kerry Schmidt, still surprised, in a video posted on Twitter.
The incident took place late Saturday evening southwest of Toronto on a portion of the Queen Elizabeth Highway, where speed is limited to 100 km / hour. The driver, accompanied by a young man his age, was driving the paternal Mercedes. His license was immediately suspended and the vehicle confiscated for seven days. He is also charged with dangerous driving, said Sergeant Schmidt.

"It could have turned into a terrible accident (...) the Queen Elizabeth Highway is not a racing circuit" , indignant the sergeant, adding that the motorists who had seen the car pass the horn honking to express their satisfaction when they saw the police intercept him.
The young man was released before having to answer for his act. "I am sure he will have a hard time explaining why, on this Mother's Day Sunday (note: in Canada) , Dad's car is no longer in the garage," concluded the police officer. .
