The Buenosairean government confirmed this Monday that there are already 616 infected with coronaviruses in the vulnerable neighborhoods of the Federal Capital, while the number of fatal victims amounts to 8.
According to the official report, 72 people have already been discharged. The neighborhoods most affected by the pandemic are: Barrio 31, with 462 cases and Barrio Padre Ricciardelli (1-11-14), with another 127.
As for the deceased, in the last hours there were two new deaths, one in Barrio 31 and the other, on 1-11-14.
The Secretary of Access to Health of the Nation, Carla Vizzotti, pointed out that the number of people infected in popular neighborhoods represents 29 percent of the total of the city of Buenos Aires, and that in the case of the Mugica neighborhood of Retiro it reaches 67 percent.
Vizzotti and the Buenos Aires ministers of Health and Human Development, Fernán Quirós and María Migliore, respectively, spearheaded the coronavirus case detection operation in the 1-11-14 neighborhood of Flores.
This Monday, in the neighborhood 1-11-14, eight teams were deployed, made up of promoters from the Ministries of Health and Human Development and Habitat of the City, personnel from the Ministry of Health of the Nation and referents or member of neighborhood organizations.
The Detect program (Strategic Testing Device for Coronavirus in the Terrain of Argentina) seeks to test people with Covid-19 symptoms to give them early attention and isolate them if necessary if they are positive.
The operations began on May 5 in the Mugica neighborhoods, in Retiro, and in La Paz, Quilmes, a joint effort between the Nation, the local jurisdictions -CABA and the municipality of Quilmes- and neighborhood leaders.
