On Monday, the United States crossed the barrier of 80,000 deaths from COVID-19, a disease that leaves a total of 1,344,512 infected in the country hardest hit by the pandemic.
According to the Johns Hopkins University count, 80,087 people have lost their lives in the United States to the coronavirus, a figure that far exceeds 32,140 deaths in the United Kingdom and 30,739 deaths in Italy.
