Deconfinement: SNCF and RATP rather passed the exam

Regrettable hiccups but a rather encouraging overall picture.


Mention quite well. Overall, the SNCF and the RATP managed to make the distance of one meter between passengers of public transport in Île-de-France roughly respected on Monday. Not all the time and not in all places, certainly: videos show, on line 13 of the metro early in the morning, passengers shoulder to shoulder and crowded trains of the RER B and D at the Gare du Nord. Regrettable hiccups but a rather encouraging overall picture.

"There was no general overcrowding in suburban trains, metros, trams and buses in the Paris region because very few people used them , " says Marc Pélissier, president of Fnaut (National Federation associations of transport users) in Île-de-France. The RATP noted an attendance of 15 to 20%. For its part, the SNCF transported 15% of its regular customers in the Transiliens and TER. The incentives to telecommute or to spread out at the office or at the factory were therefore heard.
