After an interruption that lasted for more than eight years, beekeeping and honey production in the Deir Al-Zour Governorate began gradually recovering after the vandalism and looting suffered by the apiaries.
Al-Alawi indicated in a statement to SANA correspondent that beekeeping is one of the professions that Deir Ezzor Governorate is famous for, given the availability of adequate pastures and the continuous seasons that characterize the Euphrates environment and the richness of the region with types of flowers such as almonds and citrus fruits, especially lemons, eucalyptus, thorns, carnivals and palm trees, indicating that beekeeping has stopped more than Eight years as a result of the beekeepers' sabotage and destruction by the terrorists before the liberation of Deir Ezzor and the return of security and stability to them thanks to the heroism of the Syrian Arab Army, which contributed to the return of various economic activities, especially agricultural projects to work and now Production again.
Al-Alawi explained that, in addition to honey production, it extracts propolis, which is a useful material for medical treatments, and markets these products in the local markets of Deir Ezzor.
Allawi stressed that beekeeping in Deir Al-Zour is a successful economic project by all standards, calling for more attention to such projects and providing support to beekeepers "beekeepers" so that they can return to their work and restore their activity because of this economic, medical and environmental importance of this profession.
