A caregiver from a residential facility for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) in Paris was indicted Tuesday for attempted rape of a 92-year-old resident and imprisoned, we learned from a judicial source. The 60-year-old man was placed in police custody Monday as part of the investigation entrusted to the 2nd district of judicial police (2nd DPJ) of Paris.

It is a caregiver of this Ehpad located in the XIIth district of Paris which had given the alarm after having surprised the suspect in the room of the victim, had indicated Monday a police source.
While trying to escape, the man was arrested by the police, alerted by the director of the establishment. Presented to an investigating judge on Tuesday, the man was charged with "attempted rape of a vulnerable person", then placed in pre-trial detention, said the judicial source. The victim, in shock, was hospitalized.
