A 64-year-old man, active in a migrant aid association, was fatally assaulted Tuesday at his home in Bretteville (Manche), a suspect, of Afghan nationality, was placed in police custody, told the AFP the Cherbourg parquet.

Around 11:00 a.m., emergency services intervened in the house of a man with a major head wound in this town near Cherbourg, who died some time later. An autopsy must be performed in the coming days. The investigation was entrusted to the Research Section of the Caen Gendarmerie.
