(CNN Spanish) - The Minister of Public Health of the Dominican Republic, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, reported on Tuesday that the number of people who have died from adulterated alcohol consumption rose to 177.
On May 1, Sánchez Cárdena reported that 136 people died from this consumption, so the authorities are concerned that in the last 10 days, another 43 people have lost their lives in the Dominican Republic.
Sánchez Cárdenas assured in early May that the consumption of homemade alcohol with high levels of methanol has become a major concern for Public Health in the country.
