The new coronavirus made its official appearance last week in the epicenter of American executive power: Katie Miller, spokesman for Mike Pence, has been tested positive, as a soldier in the service of the president also. "The vice president made the choice to keep his distance for a few days," said Kayleigh McEnany, spokesperson for the US executive. "It is her personal decision," she insisted.
Asked why she was not wearing a mask during her briefing in the White House press room, she stressed that she was at a sufficient distance from journalists. "I tested negative today (Tuesday) and yesterday (Monday)," she added.
3 members in quarantine
Three members of the coronavirus crisis cell, which is headed by Mr. Pence, have taken self-isolation as a precaution: Anthony Fauci, the world-renowned epidemiologist who advises Donald Trump, Robert Redfield, director of the Prevention Centers and disease control (CDC), and Stephen Hahn, head of the drug agency (FDA).
