Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and senior adviser to US President Donald Trump, said Wednesday that we cannot commit to the current election date but later made it clear that he did not have the authority to change the election date.

Asked whether the election could be postponed due to the Corona epidemic, Kushner said: "I'm not sure I can commit here or there, but it seems to be the plan right now." This has made resentments in the media affiliated with the left in the United States this because the election date is enshrined in legislation and even the constitution and the president or any of his people cannot change it.

Kushner, in response to the storm left by his remarks, said later that he was not aware of any discussion at this stage about postponing the election among any of the government officials. Kushner added that it is not his or her own authority to change the election date.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden expressed concern about such a move last month, saying during a virtual fundraising event that "remember my words, I think he (Trump) is going to try to postpone elections somehow and come up with a rational excuse why they can't be held."

The U.S. presidential election is expected to take place this year on November 3. Biden's Democratic nominee leads in almost all national polls conducted but Trump holds steady support rates among Republican voters. While Trump's environment fears that an economic crisis caused by the Corona virus could hurt his chances of winning, Democratic candidate Biden is also having trouble gaining momentum as charges of sexual assault rise against him and he is running a tired and pale campaign.
