The CSU supported Ulrich Leiner (Greens), who prevailed against Dworzak with 21:10 votes; six votes from the Greens, 14 from the CSU - including the mayor - and FDP councilor Peter Siemsen must have voted for Leiner. Katharina Dworzak became third mayor. Without opposing candidate; but only with 24 votes; seven councilors cast an invalid vote. Even without clairvoyant skills, one can guess: Seven CSU people did not have the heart to choose the mayor of Helmut Dworzak's daughter. The SPD reacted irritated in a press release.
