A short circuit at the second Hama power transmission station located in Tal Qartal on the Hama Homs highway led to a huge fire which caused it to exit from service.
The director of the Central Region Branch for the Electricity Transmission, Eng. Ahmed Makkawi, told the SANA reporter that the operations of putting out the fire by the elements of the Hama Fire Brigade are in its final stages and that the technical workshops are in a full alert to repair the damages and faults caused by the fire, which is expected to take between 6 and 7 days due to the magnitude of the fire And damaged many of the equipment.
He explained that during this period, alternative stations will be used to secure electricity, while increasing the rationing period in the areas that were feeding it, namely the city of Hama, its southern countryside, and a peaceful area.
