At the moment she is in a lot of stress, after all, the Abitur is on the plan, says Selina Rieger. "I'm in the middle of the preparations. The Abitur exams begin on May 20 and do not end until two weeks after Pentecost. ”From Tuesday, May 26, the young woman will also gain her first experience as a freshly baked councilor. “I was surprised that the voters selected me from tenth to eighth. I am very pleased that I can now take the place of Matthias Helwig. At the same time, it is also a huge challenge because my predecessor leaves a big gap. ”
However, the 18-year-old loves challenges. “I grew up as a sandwich child between two brothers. That's when I learned to assert myself and defend myself, ”she says. And if time permits, she will play soccer with 20-year-old Luca and 13-year-old Janis. Selina has been involved in the youth council for years, gives flute lessons for elementary school students, "currently online, which my students enjoy a lot because they can just click me away", and also has many other ideas about what can be done in the field of youth work.
It is lucky for Selina that another member of the youth council sits at the table with the new youth officer on the council, 19-year-old Sophie Hüttemann (SPD). "We are both socially committed and help where we can help," says Selina Rieger and looks forward to working with the local council. The age mix of her faction, "young and old at one table", is an attractive combination for her. “I am a family man and grew up in a large family. So I have no problems getting on well with people of all ages, ”she says, and says:“ Now look what I'm going to do. I'm looking forward to it."
