Langenpreising - Margot Myrt can look back on a special anniversary: she has been a church nurse in Langenpreising for 25 years and tirelessly and voluntarily takes care of all church matters. "Whether it is renovating Peterskirchen and the organ, rickety tombstones, sagging cemetery paths, crooked tower crosses, storm damage to the church roof or parish garden maintenance - Margot is always and everywhere on hand," Pastor Gregor Bartkowski attested.
She came to this office at the suggestion of her father-in-law, who also held the honorary position for many years. Thanks to her good contacts to specialists and the full professorship, the church nurse can quickly remedy problems and thus preserve the church's treasures. It is important to observe a lot of laws and regulations, especially when managing the St. Martin children's home. As a registrar, however, this is a basic requirement for her in the performance of her job.
Always exciting: renovation work
When Pastor Bartkowski came in 2004, many renovations and restorations were decided. The complete renovation of the Peterskirche with the erection of the leaning tower and the tower renovation of the parish church of St. Martin were certainly a very special challenge. Myrt was not only responsible for the entire organization, but also for the documentation of the work. "It was a moving moment when the dossier was placed in the cartridge along with other items, and then the ball and the cross were blessed by Pastor Bartkowski at dizzy heights," recalls the church nurse.
“For me, church with all the trimmings is part of the home that needs to be preserved. During the renovations, I learn a lot about church building, sacred art or completely other areas such as organ building. It is always exciting to see what comes out of a building renovation - and the result is well worth the effort, ”she says.
During a dinner together, Myrt's special anniversary was celebrated before the corona restrictions and the church nurse was thanked for her many years of service. In the hope of many more years, the parish council chairwoman Maria Heller said in the name of the parish council: "With all my heart God repays and a lot of strength and perseverance, but above all God's blessing for your commitment."
