Apparently, the reserves were not large enough to avoid an end to the Corona crisis. The Paulaner in the valley has existed since 1524. Night owls whistle completely on Corona rules, then some suddenly "flee" from Munich's hotspot

Update of May 17, 11:37 a.m .: On Saturday (May 16) there were several police operations in Munich, as witnesses made 110 notices to the police emergency number about crowded groups of people in the inner city area.

Around 10:30 p.m. there were over a hundred people at Gärtnerplatz , some of whom were alcoholic and did not keep the minimum distances from each other. Some people left the place when the police arrived . Other people were instructed in accordance with the current Infection Protection Measures Ordinance and expelled from the site, as the Munich police report.

Munich: "Over a hundred people" don't care about corona rules - the hotspot on Saturday evening was completely overrun

In the area of the Viktualienmarkt , several violations of the general decree were found during the day. Several hundred people were there to drink drinks they had bought in the nearby shops. The number of people could be reduced through consistent speeches by the police officers.

There have been changes in the various infection control measures in recent weeks regarding stays in the open air, but the police have made it clear once again: "The provisions on compliance with minimum distances and contact restrictions still apply and must be complied with for reasons of infection protection".

Because of Corona: Much more emergency calls in Munich due to carelessness - "That was rare before the pandemic"

Update from 2.10 p.m .: Demonstrations against the Corona measures are taking place throughout the Free State. All information about the rallies in Munich can be found in our ticker for the state capital. But who are the organizers, "Resistance 2020" and Co.? Mid-conspiracy theories? Who really pulls strings.

Update from 13:36: Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) can gain a lot from the plans of the Federal Ministry of Finance for a multi-billion dollar shield for the municipalities in need. "A proposal that enables the municipalities to continue to ensure their vital tasks, particularly in the context of services of general interest, in a very timely manner," said Reiter on Saturday. The evening before, he spoke to Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) about the idea. "In this conversation he presented his proposal, which I expressly support."

Because of Corona: Much more emergency calls in Munich due to carelessness - "That was rare before the pandemic"

Update from 11.17 a.m .: The employees of the poison emergency call in Munich have had a lot more to do since the Corona crisis. "Much more parents report to us than usual because their children went on a discovery tour and drank disinfectants or similar substances," said the toxicologist Tobias Zellner of the German Press Agency (dpa). Zellner advises the callers on the hotline of the Clinic on the right of the Isar. He and his colleagues usually answer about 90 emergency calls a day, currently it's 130 or more.

About a handful of calls come every day because children have taken a sip from the disinfectant bottle. "That was rare before the corona pandemic," it continues. The reason for the increase is that the funds are currently present in significantly more households. "If the bottles are left unprotected, the children can of course get there much more easily." Even calls from daycare centers now come. But there is good news: "Disinfectants do not result in severe poisoning, at most slight alcohol poisoning, " says Zellner. "Nobody had to go to the hospital yet." Drinking water and eating something sweet to avoid hypoglycemia was sufficient as a treatment.

In addition to disinfectants, Fellner's colleague Regina Jennet-George is also increasingly using other hygiene products from households. " Dishwasher tablets, toilet blocks or cleaners - there is almost everything there," says the nurse. "The parents simply cannot keep an eye on the children, and then some just start to make nonsense ." But since most cleaning agents didn't taste good, only small amounts were swallowed - most of the time, it wasn't dangerous. Great caution should be exercised only with medication . Another reason for the increase in emergency calls are over-cautious parents: “Most of the work makes us think that many do not think for themselves. Parents also call here because their child has put penate cream in their mouth. ”

Corona in Munich: traditional restaurant opens for the FCB top game

Update from 10:24 a.m .:  Coup of the Munich public prosecutor: Together with the State Criminal Police Office (LKA), the investigators succeeded in arresting a corona fraudster.

Update from May 16, 8.31 a.m .: Beer gardens are allowed to open again on Monday (May 18), followed by a week later (May 25). A traditional Munich pub still has to postpone its opening: As the pub  "Kilians Irish Pub" announced on Facebook, technical reasons are decisive, which is why the doors will only be opened on Tuesday (May 26th) - matching a blast game in the Bundesliga . Then FC Bayern will meet BVB in Dortmund - broadcast live in the Irish Pub.

The location is always very well attended to Bayern games. It remains to be seen whether the guests at the goal celebration will always keep their distance or briefly forget this rule.

New Corona measures announced - Söder: Munich cult event "could have been a little Ischgl"

11.15 a.m .: The press conference has now ended. The Prime Minister again gave the following to Corona skeptics: "To those who think that this might be an exaggeration, I can only say: there are areas of the world where we hear news that there could be a relapse" .

10.42 a.m .: When asked by a journalist, Söder clarifies: "A rock concert will certainly be performed much later than a Don Carlos, for example". In principle, however, cultural activities must be possible if this also applies to the soccer Bundesliga and the catering trade. In his opinion, the Nockherberg could have been “a little Ischgl”, Söder looks back on the cancellation in March. At the time, he was heavily criticized for the decision by many artists.

10:33 am: Digital Minister Judith Gerlach once again highlights the threatening situation of many cinema operators . "I think a coordinated approach by the countries is absolutely sensible," clarifies the CSU politician. It needed "high-revenue films that are shown throughout Germany" to effectively help the operators.

Corona Munich: open-air events after Pentecost possible again?

10:29: Open air events may be possible again after Pentecost, Sibler says. In this regard, one also has to wait and see how the upcoming openings in the catering trade will be accepted. For autumn there was “the great hope” to be able to resume events in the houses.

Opening of the # venues: decision not until May 20th. Start up after Pentecost with smaller events. Still no details ... #Bavaria #Culture

- Markus Thiel (@MarkusThielNews) May 14, 2020

10:22: Minister of Science Bernd Sibler joins Söder. The CSU minister announced that they wanted to give perspectives and respond to fears of cultural existence. Solo self-employed people who have not previously benefited from the aid programs can now be included; corresponding applications are available. Music schools in Bavaria are to be funded with ten million euros, and help is also available for amateur music groups.

10.15 a.m .: What's next with the cultural scene? "The ministers of culture have developed a concept of how the way forward can be when opening," says Söder. This should also be presented to the Chancellor. According to the Prime Minister, the model could be the gradual opening of the churches. Söder mentions the time after Pentecost as the time frame , but also the time of the summer vacation in Bavaria. Inevitable: You have to be prepared for huge losses in terms of revenue.

Corona Munich: Söder announces new measures at press conference

10.07 am: "It's also about preserving Bavaria's emotional scene," Söder clarifies at the beginning of the press conference . That is why they sat down with creative artists from all industries. As a result, the cultural rescue package will be increased from 90 to 200 million. The number of beneficiaries is expected to increase from around 30,000 to around 60,000.

Even freelancers (such as technicians, makeup artists and cinematographers), in the theaters are to benefit. Not just people who are on stage. Venues such as cinemas or smaller theaters should receive direct support . For this, a rescue package in the amount of 50 million euros will be launched.

9.58 a.m .: What happens to art and culture ? Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder will address this question at a press conference at 10 a.m. Minister of Art and Science Bernd Sibler and Digital Minister Judith Gerlach (both CSU) are also at the press conference. Is there a ray of hope for the industry? The topic should include, among other things, further help for the crisis-ridden cultural sector.

Update May 14, 6:31 am:  10,000 people want to protest at the Theresienwiese against the current Corona regulations - that's what the authorities in Munich say.

Before the next mega demo in Munich: KVR announces drastic measures

12.53 p.m .: There will be a large demonstration against the corona measures in Munich on Saturday . It was announced an event with 10,000 people on the Theresienwiese , said district administration officer Thomas Böhle on Wednesday in the general assembly of the city council. The city would guarantee infection protection with conditions. At the same time, Böhle announced tough action in the event of violationsat. The police will proceed rigorously and control compliance with the requirements as well as the number of participants. If necessary, they would work towards an end to the meeting.

Developments like last Saturday should no longer exist, said Böhle. Instead of the announced 80 people, 3,000 people demonstrated on Marienplatz , many without face protection and without a safety margin. Böhle said that in future only meetings would be permitted within the old town ring, at which such developments were not to be expected. The organizer can determine where he would like a meeting to take place. However, the city's task is to work towards relocation if the chosen location is problematic. "We will do that," he said.

12.32 p.m .: An S-Bahn control escalated in Munich . A young man who was not wearing a mask was checked by several officers. Then he made a drastic decision.

The Munich police recently responded to a TV broadcast by ProSieben. For this she chose emotional words.

11:57:  Did she want to keep other passengers away from her? A woman was out and about in Munich with an unusual face mask. An absurd photo of the unusual variant is circulating on the web.

Update from May 13, 10:05 am:  Standl operators of the Auer Dult should find space in the Paulaner beer garden on Nockherberg . It should start in early June. And that's how the host imagines the concept. His colleague from the Dachau district is "a little afraid" of Father's Day, as he explains in the interview.

Corona in Munich: rides and stalls all over the city?

9.45 p.m .: How many people in Munich have actually contracted the corona virus? A large study will soon provide information. It is eagerly awaited in advance - and that far beyond Bavaria's borders, as reported by tz.de *.

9.30 p.m .:  Soon it will be time: Beer gardens, restaurants and taverns in Bavaria are allowed to open their outdoor areas after the corona shutdown on May 18.

According to the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger , groups, for example several friends, can then meet again in the catering trade * - under clearly defined conditions.

6.20 p.m .: After the cancellation of the Oktoberfest and other folk festivals, the city of Munich wants to break new ground: stalls and possibly also smaller ridescould possibly be installed decentrally at various locations in the city as early as the summer

Tz * had already reported on the mind games. Now it is getting a bit more serious: On Wednesday morning (May 13), the city council wants to discuss the proposals in a general assembly.

It is by no means a replacement for the Oktoberfest, the Munich business officer and Oktoberfest chief Clemens Baumgärtner (CSU) emphasized in advance. Rather, it is about organizing the summer in the city and at the same time helping the showmen suffering from the consequences of the Corona crisis . Last but not least, due to the pandemic, the people of Munich could not go on vacation as usual. However, protection against infection is at the top.

With a joint application, the SPD, the Greens and the CSU want to ensure that Munich showmen can offer take-away dishes typical of the festival at certain locations in the city. The Oktoberfest was canceled on April 21 because of the risk of infection with the corona virus.

Corona in Munich: Eisbach surfers can breathe a sigh of relief - their fans cannot

4:02 p.m .: Surfing on the famous Eisbach wave is possible again in Munich , but subject to conditions. The Munich city administration announced on Tuesday that the hygiene requirements must be strictly observed. People should also maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters, even when waiting for access to the water. A sad news for all fans of Eisbach surfers: According to the city, viewers are not allowed. Since the end of March, surfing there has not been permitted due to the corona pandemic.

3:14 p.m .: 68 new corona cases were confirmed in Munich on Tuesday, May 12 (as of 1:30 p.m.) . This figure includes 5,167 people who have already recovered and 201 deaths.

2:22 p.m .: The event concept announced today was repeatedly the subject of various inquiries from the journalists present. The ministers refer to the work to be done in the coming days, however, the details still have to be worked out. The press conference has now ended .

Corona Munich: New concept for meetings is coming - ministers provide information on how to proceed

13:58: In Bavaria there are currently only about 4,300 proven infections with the corona virus . Health minister Huml said 44,933 cases have been registered since the pandemic broke out, and 219 cases have been added since Monday.

1:45 pm: Health Minister Melanie Huml gives the current figures regarding the infection: "Of course, every dead person is one too many". It was still important to exercise caution. She, too, shows no understanding of the weekend demonstrations that got out of hand: "This actually jeopardizes the fact that we can open up more," says Huml. The health minister announces an “early warning system” for the Free State, which is to apply to 35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

13:36: Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger again pleads for the incentive to buy new cars in order to start the industry up again. The retail trade is completely open again. According to Aiwanger, around 50 percent of normal sales can currently be recorded. "Please accept the offer too," asks the Economics Minister regarding the openings in the catering trade. Aiwanger then devotes himself in detail to the topic of emergency aid: "We have provided the majority of the beneficiaries with money". The 49-year-old promises that the new applications will not be long in coming.

13:28:  "If there are no setbacks in the infection process," the timetable for catering can be maintained, says Herrmann. The concept is being sharpened to ensure clarity for everyone involved. This area is naturally a special challenge. "Gastronomy thrives on the tightness," says Herrmann.

Relaxation in the catering trade: from 18.05. outside until 10 p.m., from May 25 indoors until 10 p.m. and outside until 8 p.m. 1.5 meters between everyone in the restaurant. Families can sit together. Mouth nose protection necessary - except at the table.

Distance requirement? Corona demo in Munich causes a scandal - "disturbing images" could have far-reaching consequences

1:22 pm: Now it's about the meetings , Herrmann speaks of "disturbing pictures" that would have been there on the weekend. Clear guidelines had been laid down for demonstrations. "But there is a discrepancy between the registration and the actual number of participants, " explains the head of state chancellor. In terms of the distance requirement, however, there were significant shortcomings: “The limits are where you threaten others. Passers-by were approached consciously. "

You want to follow a "very clear line". Minister of the Interior Herrmann is to develop a concept with the district administrative authorities . It should be possible to hold meetings without endangering others.

1:17 pm: Hustle and bustle in the press, the ministers are there; the press conference can begin. Florian Herrmann takes the floor first. “We can see that the development so far confirms our strategy, our course of caution and prudence. We don't want to trip now, ”says the head of state chancellor. In this context, Herrmann refers to the common key figures: "This is how you can currently see a positive trend". However, one must always closely monitor the development: "The relief measures must not have a negative effect". Herrmann makes a definite appeal to the people's sense of responsibility.

1:14 p.m .:  "Are on the way, but takes no a bissl", one hears from the off. Thank you for the update! The press conference should begin in a few minutes.

13:08: There may still be a problem at one point or another, the podium is still empty. After all, the cabinet has been sitting together since 10 a.m. It cannot be ruled out that significant wording has been fought for.

1:02 p.m .: Markus Söder recently announced that he would increasingly leave the word to his ministers in the press statements . But where are they? A delay of a few minutes has already been generously granted.

Corona Munich: "So that something like this does not repeat itself" - Minister presents detailed report

12.58 p.m .: A detailed report of the weekend meetings should be presented to the Council of Ministers today, reports the BR . "So that something like this does not repeat itself," said Interior Minister Herrmann. Another topic of the press conference is likely to be hygiene measures in the catering industry . The cabinet also discussed “non-corona issues” this morning, for example, Prime Minister Söder had warned not to lose focus on climate protection .

12.45 p.m .: Bavaria's Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann had already called for vigorous intervention by the police as a result of the meetings in major Bavarian cities . Will the CSU man's wish be met at today's press conference?

Distance requirement? Corona demo in Munich causes mega-scandal - now it is known what consequences this could have

12.28 p.m .: At 1 p.m., the Bavarian cabinet provides information on how to proceed in the Corona crisis - with special attention to the future handling of demonstrations. We accompany the statement in the live ticker . State Chancellor Florian Herrmann , Health Minister Melanie Huml (both CSU) and Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) step in front of the microphones.

10:48:  The Bavarian coach operators demonstrate for the resumption of operations. A corso of 50 coaches drove up to the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs on Tuesday morning . In agreement with the ministry, the originally intended handover of a petition was postponed until the afternoon, said the managing director of the Bavarian Omnibus Association, Stephan Rabl. There should also be a meeting with Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (free voters).

The bus companies complain that the restrictions in the corona crisis have left them "without income for eight weeks and still without any prospect of easing". They are now demanding financial aid and an "early opening of coach transport" parallel to the hotel industry.

- Max Wochinger (@maxwochinger) May 12, 2020

The association describes the situation of the companies dramatically: "In Bavaria alone, a thousand family-run businesses are in ruins." The entire fleet is at a standstill, no new bookings have been made, while customer funds have to be repaid and the vehicles continue to incur costs. The aid previously provided was far from sufficient.

Far-reaching consequences after demo scandal in Munich? Even before an official statement, clear words are said

Update May 12, 9:15 a.m .: On Tuesday (10:00 a.m.), the Bavarian cabinet will advise on the next steps in the corona crisis . One topic is likely to be how to prevent demonstrations against anti-corona measures from getting out of hand as they did at the weekend. Thousands of people had demonstrated in Munich and Nuremberg , among other places , and distance and other rules to protect the entire population were not observed.

State Chancellor Florian Herrmann , Minister of Health Melanie Huml (both CSU) and Minister of Economics Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) want to inform about the results of the cabinet meeting . Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) is not attending the press conference - he had already announced last week that he would now increasingly leave the appearances to the ministers. At 1:00 p.m. the ministers appear before the press; we accompany your statement in the live ticker.

Corona demo in Munich gets out of hand: Interior Minister announces tougher crackdown

Origin message:

Munich - Following protests against the Corona measures, Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann has announced a crackdown on violations of future Corona demonstrations . "The police will be even more present at the meetings in the next few weeks," said the CSU politician to the "Augsburger Allgemeine" (Tuesday). He made a similar statement on Monday evening at Bayern 2, “radioWelt am Abend”.

"We will take a very close look, especially among the people who reject the state as a whole and act aggressively," announced Herrmann. Because: "The Basic Law not only grants freedom of assembly and expression, it also gives up the state to protect its citizens from the reckless endangerment of others."

Corona Munich: Demo at Marienplatz could have far-reaching consequences

At the weekend, thousands of people protested in Bavaria's cities (including Marienplatz in Munich) against what they considered to be strict regulations in the fight against the corona pandemic . In Munich and Nuremberg, significantly more people came than registered, distance and other rules for corona protection were no longer observed.

A solution to the situation by means of communication was unsuccessful despite the great effort on the part of the police officers deployed.
For reasons of proportionality, the head of operations decided against evacuation of the emotional but peaceful gathering

- Police Munich (@PolizeiMuenchen) May 9, 2020

Herrmann told the newspaper about the ever widening conspiracy theory that he was very concerned about developments. "Even if someone wants to give complete nonsense out of reality, according to our constitution, he has this right," explained Herrmann. "But if abusive theories and left-wing and right-wing extremist ideas are used to stir up a hate cocktail and passers-by uninvolved passers-by are at risk, the rule of law must show a clear edge," he emphasized.

Demonstrators of an anti-corona measure protest on Marienplatz in Munich have apparently insulted and maliciously coughed up their non-demonstrating fellow citizens. Similar demos will in future be relocated to a less frequented location *.
