In Mexico, the authorities announced an increase in the incidence of the emerging coronavirus, to 49,219, while the number of deaths rose to 5,177.
Reuters quoted sources in the Mexican Ministry of Health as saying today that "Mexico has witnessed a slight increase in the death rate due to the Corona virus compared to the global average so far due to the widespread prevalence of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity."
In Germany, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases today showed two cases of coronavirus infection, bringing the cases to 174,355.
Germany did not report any new deaths, keeping the number of deaths at 7914.
