Firefighting teams, in cooperation with the people, today put out several fires that broke out with varying areas of dry herbs that affected hundreds of dunums of agricultural lands, field crops and fruit trees in separate locations in the province of As-Suwayda.
The leader of the Sweida Fire Brigade Nayef Al-Shaar stated that the mechanisms and elements of the regiment extinguished a large fire that broke out near the village of Najran and affected about 200 dunums of dry herbs and extended to extend areas of fields planted with wheat and barley near it before it was controlled and encircled and extinguished with the support of the civil defense and the people after a long work About 4 hours in a very rough area, it is difficult for firefighting vehicles to enter some locations where the fire spread, in light of the high temperatures and winds.
The regiment also extinguished, according to the slogan, another fire with dry herbs in Al-Majdal town between citizens ’homes. It spanned about ten acres and caused damage to some trees in the place, in addition to dealing with a number of fires that resulted in varying areas of dry grass between citizens’ homes in the city of As-Suwayda and on Kanakir Road and in Sahwa Al-Khidr In Al-Barak area east of Sahwa Al-Balata village, it was extinguished before field crops and fruit trees prolonged the place.
The Shehaba firefighting unit dealt with a major fire on the lands of the village of Zakir in the northern countryside, which came about two hundred acres of land planted with wheat, barley and fruit trees before being able to control it and put it out in cooperation with the people of the region and their agricultural tractor, in addition to putting out three fires, one of which broke out with agricultural lands between the villages of Al-Hayt and Al-Hayat In the northeastern countryside, he came on some field crops and dried herbs, and another near the martyr Faruq Al-Dahuk High School in Umm Al-Zaytun and on the ancient Dama road in the northwestern countryside, he covered dry grass according to the leader of the firefighting unit, Waseem Al-Taweel.
The Sallahk Fire Unit, as indicated by the fire brigade’s command, Samir Al-Awam, put out a number of fires of varying areas with dry herbs east of the village of Tal Al-Louz and on the road to Umm Al-Rumman Village and on the road to Aman Al-Anat, with an area of 20 dunums, in addition to a fire between the citizens ’homes east of the hospital in the city of Salkhad.
The civil defense crews, according to the commander of the Civil Defense Company in Suwayda, Major Galaa Abu Hadeer, also extinguished a number of fires on Kanaker Road, Al-Majdal and Najran, which affected large areas of dry grass and were suppressed by the fire brigade and the concerned authorities and the people before they damaged the citizens ’crops.
The firefighting teams, in cooperation with the concerned authorities and the people, have put out many fires during the past few days in separate areas of the governorate, which covered large areas, some of them hundreds of acres, including damaging agricultural and forest lands, field crops, fruit and forest trees, and dry grass.
