Revealed in Netflix documentary: Michael Jordan was poisoned with pizza - with devastating consequences

In the Netflix documentary “The Last Dance”, a private trainer revealed incredible things: basketball icon Michael Jordan was poisoned with a pizza - with devastating consequences.

Offenbach - For a few weeks now, the documentary "The Last Dance" about basketball icon Michael Jordan has been flickering  on the screens at Netflix . Every week the streaming service publishes two episodes of the season, which comprises a total of ten stages. On Monday (May 18th, 2020) the episodes nine and ten followed - and revealed an absolute hammer.

Michael Jordan is said to have poisoned himself with pizza  during the 1997 NBA final series against Utah Jazz . At least that's what Tim Grover, Jordan's personal fitness trainer, reports on  “The Last Dance” on Netflix . But one after the other.

It's game 5 in the playoffs between Jordan's Chicago Bulls and Utah . Michael Jordan got the flu the night before - and still plays the next day. The match writes sports history as a "flu game". So the previous version. In episode nine of the Netflix documentary, however, a different story comes to light.

Jordan suddenly gets hungry late in the evening before the Utah match . The problem: The Bulls sleep in a hotel outside of Salt Lake City, there is no 24-hour service. So MJ orders a pizza from a delivery service  - with serious consequences. 

Grover accepts the delivery, in the Netflix documentary he reveals: “Suddenly there were five boys at the door and delivered a pizza. They tried to look past me into the room, they seemed to know that Michael was there. I had a bad feeling with this pizza . ”Maybe a Utah fan was working in the supplier's kitchen?

Jordan eats the pizza alone, and suddenly wakes up at around 2:30 in the night. He has to vomit again and again. Grover reports: “At 3:00 am MJ called me and ordered me to his room. He was huddled in bed, trembling. I called the team doctor. "

This is unbelievable.

And Jordan ? The next day he drags himself to the floor, white as a sheet. After all, this fifth game is about everything for his Bulls . Jordan looks exhausted, doesn't play a good first quarter and then: he explodes. The basketball icon gives Utah 38 points and leads Chicago to an important 90:88 away win. Historical! 

After the match, Jordan fell into the arms of his teammate Scottie Pippen. But Utah is beaten. Was the pizza actually poisoned? One thing is certain: Jordan's illness had devastating consequences: for Utah Jazz.
