The woman went swimming in the Main on Monday , her 58-year-old husband was waiting on the bank. The police said on Tuesday.

As the woman's movements became increasingly uncertain, the man wanted to rush to help his wife. But he still injured his leg on the bank. He contracted a severe leg fracture , according to News5 .
Passers-by alerted the from 20h30 rescue workers . After a short search, the police patrol that first arrived at the scene were able to find a person in the water. With the help of a rowing boat organized at short notice, a police officer and a local resident brought the motionless woman ashore, as News5 reports.

Around 60 volunteers from several local groups of the BRK Wasserwacht in the district of Haßberge were deployed, two ambulances together with an emergency doctor, a rescue helicopter and the fire brigade.
