Trump could have another impeachment 0:36

(CNN) - Here's a bold prediction: President Donald Trump is soon going to say something either totally outrageous or verifiably false or utterly ridiculous. Maybe all three. Maybe multiples of all three.

On Monday, it was, most notably, that he was taking hydroxychloroquine, the antimalarial drug that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has said should not be prescribed to treat coronavirus.

Read the transcript. I urge you to go back and read the rambling answer Trump gave that led him to report that he has been taking the drug for the past 10 days or so.

This is not a man who shares information about his health, except to brag about it. But he intentionally involved journalists in the fact that he is taking this medication.

Fear of informants. The question that led to the exchange was about another outrageous thing he had said, on Twitter, after "60 Minutes" interviewed informant Rick Bright, who said he was pressured to push hydroxychloroquine as a treatment despite lack of evidence.

Trump, in his response to reporters, joined Bright with the informant who expressed concern about pressure on Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden. Do you remember that? Trump yes!

They are all the same for Trump. In his opinion, it seems that someone is pro-Trump or anti-Trump. And informants must be anti-Trump.

But your bait also has the distracting effect.

Distraction is what he is doing when he:

  • Troll the FDA and science in general by taking hydroxychloroquine.
  • Keep inventing things to accuse Barack Obama.
  • He vilifies the Democratic governors, trying to hold them responsible for the confinement by the covid-19. Both parties will be needed to reopen the country.

What could Trump want you to distract yourself from?

Here are the 10 things that come to mind first:

  • More than 90,000 Americans have died from covid-19 since January.
  • As of Tuesday, at least 17 states have posted a clear upward trend in new average daily cases.
  • Unemployment at the Depression level.
  • The economic recovery from confinement by covid-19 could take years, according to the president of the Federal Reserve.
  • The vast majority of the $ 500 billion set aside by Congress to stabilize the economy has not been spent by the administration.
  • An informant says the Trump administration tried to bypass the hydroxychloroquine background investigation process.
  • The administration threatens to cut funding to the World Health Organization for its response to the increase in the coronavirus in China, but Trump himself spent January and February praising China.
  • The Trump administration has replaced or eliminated four inspectors general since then.
  • The dismissed State Department inspector general was investigating an arms sales deal to Saudi Arabia.
  • What could be al Qaeda's first deadly attack on US soil since September 11 occurred last year in Florida.

Big waste

Obama will not be invited to the White House for the presentation of portraits. That Trump doesn't want to be around Democrats is not new.

(Trump continues to drive unsubstantiated allegations against Barack Obama!)

That Democrats don't want to be around Trump is also old news. (He was impeached for trying to get Ukraine to harm Joe Biden!)

That there will be no official presentation of the portrait of former President Barack Obama at the White House is more evidence today of a total collapse of the parties at exactly the worst time.

Unprecedented animosity. “Presidential portrait presentations are one of three events that bring together former presidents. This level of animosity between a sitting president and his predecessors is unprecedented in modern history, ”Kate Andersen Brower, a CNN contributor and author of“ Team of Five: The Club of Presidents in the Trump Era, ”told CNN.

What a waste: It's not just about Trump versus Obama. On Tuesday, the president called Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi a "waste of time."

In fairness, she had called it "morbid obesity" when raising concerns about her consumption of that hydroxychloroquine, a drug not approved by the FDA. (He is, by Chris Cillizza's numbers, simply obese, so his comment was a dig.)

LOOK : Trump says hydroxychloroquine doesn't kill and Pelosi calls him obese, how wrong are they both?

"I don't answer her, I think she is a waste of time," the president told reporters on Capitol Hill.
