GNTM 2020: who has already left? Who are the finalists of "Germany's Next Top Model"?

In 2020, too, countless participants will try their luck at GNTM. But who will make it to the semi-finals in episode 16 and who will make it to the finals? These candidates are still there.

Update from May 14: And a second candidate has to go after the decision walk - the decision was short, but ultimately fell on Anastasia - also called  Nasty . She could not convince on the walk, looked uncertain and did not implement Julien McDonald's tips. Now the four finalists have been determined: Lijana, Sarah, Maureen and Jacky will compete next week to become “Germany's next top model 2020”.

Update from May 14th : It's a semi-final and not a final, as Heidi's "Meeedchen" thought last week. But that also means that new challenges are waiting for the GNTM candidates and more have to be done. The first one to hit the semi-finals is Tamara . In the height shoot, she could not overcome her fear of heights. The fear was visible in her face and consequently the pictures were not beautiful. 

GNTM: After the cover shoot is over for Larissa

Update from May 7th: Although the GNTM finale will only take place in two weeks, the cover shoot for Harper's Bazaar has already taken place in episode 15 . Usually this is only the case in the semi-finals. But this year is different. Seven "girls" can breathe in the air of the cover shoots. But unfortunately Larissa looked very shy. And even with the haute couture walk she seemed too distant and did not present the dress properly. So that was the end of Larissa . However, she had probably already guessed. After all, she had a panic attack just before the decision walk. For Tamara, whose job in Milan almost ended in disaster, it is just enough.

Update from May 7th : Larissa is out! Shortly before the semifinals, the Hessin is over, she and Tamara had to tremble for the last photo. The six finalists are now certain: Tamara, Anastasia, Lijana, Sarah, Maureen and Jacky.

GNTM 2020: After episode 14 there are still seven candidates

Update from April 30th:  There were only seven left. The final is steep. After Maribel, Nasty and Lijana, who broke the rule with Larissa in episode 14 and suffered nasty attacks after filming, only two got ahead. But it was over for Maribel, who wobbled so often and had to leave this time because of the lack of jobs. The GNTM finale is now not far away. However, the question arises how this will and can take place in the times of Corona. Maybe Heidi won't be in the final?

GNTM 2020: Vivian has to go in episode 13

Update from April 23: And there were only eight "girls" left. Today Vivian had to go after her shooting didn't go well, she still couldn't get a job and the "Pussycat Dolls" show was not convincing either. Nasty and Larissa just got into the next round. 

GNTM 2020: Nadine had to leave in episode 12

Update of April 16: Nine candidates are still in the race at GNTM 2020. In sequence 12 it was not enough for Munich Nadine - she has to go home to Germany after she was not able to convince with the case-free shoot. Two didn't think it was a shame: Larissa and Lijana didn't even hug Nadine. "We are not really sorry, after everything that has happened," said the two dryly.

April 9 update: Heidi Klum has chosen her top 10 of season 15. Unfortunately, it was not enough for one:  Chick Julia (17) could not convince neither underwater shooting nor dancing. In episode 11 the journey for  "Germany's next top model"   ended for them. Permanent wiggle Maribel got away with a black eye.

Update from April 2:  And there were only 11 "Meedchen". The top 10 is getting closer and Bianca had to leave shortly before . She had forgotten her text during the stunt shoot, did not convince with her acting talent, and did not convince with the decision walk with Lip-Sync. Although you have to say that your song was the most difficult, because the song contained a rap part at the beginning.

Update from March 26: And there will be no Curvy supermodel again, because Johanna is out. After she shook for several weeks in a row and was again unable to convince, there was no photo for her. She just lacked self-confidence.

Update from March 19: Today two "Meedchen" had to go again. However, one voluntarily got out: Fan darling Mareike. She was no longer there with her heart and missed friends and family. Julia F also got out. She got no jobs and her walk was also not convincing.

Update from March 12, 2020: After Heidi Klum sent four girls back home the previous week, only one GNTM candidate was hit in episode seven : Lucy (21) had to leave the show. The transgener candidate could not convince.

Update March 5, 2020: DC four candidates had to pack their bags for them the journey with model mom Heidi Klum ends. Regardless of whether it is disgust shooting , horror catwalk or goat war: the remaining candidates can now call themselves the top 17 of the current season. The opening credits for the next week also promise a lot of drama, the private Instagram profiles of the girls are criticized.

Update from February 27, 2020: Probably nobody expected this decision. In episode five, TV viewers were finally able to enjoy the great makeover. In the end, Heidi Klum made for an absolute specialty. Because the model fell ill with a parasite, no candidate had to pack her suitcase.

Update from February 20: Three candidates had to leave today: Laura, Alina and Valeria . Valeria has long been Heidi's favorite because she loved her special look. Unfortunately, there was a lack of body awareness. Who was not in this episode but still got one round: Maureen. She had to go to the hospital * and could not participate.

In episode three, two candidates have to go home after the nude shoot and the water catwalk: Saskia , who was there for the second time and was not at all enthusiastic about the photographer Vicky Lawton , meets . Number two was Malin . This was only surprising to a certain extent, because the deficits are already visible during catwalk training with Heidi.

Munich - On January 30th, Heidi Klum will again be spoiled for choice because she has to decide who will get a photo at the end of each GNTM episode and who has to leave the show. With so many candidates, this is of course anything but easy.

This year's participants of GNTM are characterized in particular by extraordinary body features such as tattoos or bald heads . This makes individual young women stand out from the crowd, but does that also increase their chances of winning? 

Not necessarily, because, as we know from the previous seasons, talent on the catwalk and photo shoots as well as visible progress in the course of the show counts .

At the beginning of the first episode, these 28 participants managed to convince Heidi Klum * and her prominent coaches to be able to attend the fashion show:

How many candidates have to leave GNTM per episode?

The 28 fixed candidates * can prevail against other contestants at least at the beginning of the first episode. Last year, 50 young women competed against each other, from which Heidi Klum * initially chose 35 favorites. So the number was drastically reduced this year. Three of the 28 candidates only joined two in a row. One of them is Maribel, whose family history shakes. 

The first trailers reveal that the participants have to prove their talent on a catwalk in Munich's Olympic Park. Moderator Heidi Klum shows herself to her fans at the beginning of the filming. The girls present themselves to a larger audience in gorgeous dresses. After the fashion show, it might look bad for some, because Heidi Klum may send  further candidates of the 38 chosen ones home in the first episode. 

The procedure should then proceed as usual: in the first episodes, several GNTM participants leave the show at the same time. From 15 to 20 candidates it gets exciting because only single young women have to do without a photo. Towards the end of the season, there is only one person per episode - unless there are unexpected events like a voluntary exit.

Who can decide when a candidate has to leave?

Heidi Klum has been on the jury alone since 2019, so she can determine who stays and who goes. Only the invited guest coaches * have a say. In each episode, the top model mom brings new celebrities to her side who support her, as well as the candidates, with help and advice.

Last year, Heidi Klum Stars performed at GNTM *, such as Stefanie Giesinger , Lena Gercke , Thomas Gottschalk and Paris Hilton . ProSieben has not yet announced all guests for 2020, but a few names are already known: among others, the participants can look forward to Milla Jovovich , Stella Maxwell and Joan Smalls .

It will be shown to what extent the guest coaches can influence Heidi Klum's decisions. Last year, however , Paris Hilton , for example, had the option of preventing a candidate from leaving. Special regulations of this kind are also conceivable in relation to the current show.

How many girls will enter the 2020 GNTM final?

Just as uncertain as the number of candidates who survive the first episode is the number of finalists. In the very first seasons of GNTM , only three girls reached the final. However, the number has varied since 2012, as up to five participants have made it into the last shows.

In 2019, winner Simone * had to prevail against two competitors in the final. The spring will show whether only three girls will compete against each other this year. There was now a small spoiler alarm at a gala in New York. ProSieben will broadcast the first episode on January 30 - and this year GNTM will appear earlier * than expected. An amusing scene already occurred in the casting: Candidate Charlotte predicted the future for Heidi Klum. She really predicted that the model mom would be a mom again - with husband Tom Kaulitz she should have a baby. The different dialects of the candidates confused the TV station and led to a mistake even before the start of the show. * 

Johanna left GNTM with a big bang. Now she speaks plain text about the blasphemy attack by Larissa and Lijana. She also has cool words for Heidi Klum.

Nadine flew out in episode 12 and had previously prepared a moving speech on stem cell donation. Her sister fell ill with cancer years ago and could be cured, but unfortunately not a good friend of hers.
