From the beginning of the week, six patients suffering from heat stroke were evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, two of whom were in serious condition.

This evening, a 65-year-old woman was evacuated from her apartment in Be'er Sheva in a severe 42-degree heat. She was breathing in a shock room. Earlier in the day, a 64-year-old man collapsed on Yeruham Street and headed to the shock room in the hospital in a severe 42-degree heat. He was transferred to the intensive care unit, breathed and cooled. His condition is defined as difficult and stable.

This evening, a report was received at MDA 101 hotline on a man, 26, who was riding a bicycle from central Eilat to Eilat today, and after hours of riding he felt bad and lay by the road on Highway 12, about 40 km north of Eilat. MDA paramedics provided medical treatment and referred to Yoseftal Hospital a 26-year-old man in stable condition with signs of dehydration.

MDA senior medic David Asraf said: "When we arrived, we noticed a 26-year-old man lying on the sand on the side of the road, fully conscious of dehydration. He said that yesterday night he started riding to Eilat and when he arrived near the place he felt bad and lay by the road. A passing citizen recognized him and called to report the incident. We immediately applied for medical treatment that included fluids, put him in an ambulance along with the road bike and he was in stable condition for the hospital. "

Dr. Dan Schwartzfox, internal screening manager and deputy director of Soroka: "On these hot days, you should avoid going outside for strenuous activities, especially when it comes to people with chronic illnesses. Pay attention to the elderly around you, if there are those in the house without an air conditioner, take care of the air conditioning and cooling of the house. In the event of a heat stroke, seek medical attention as soon as possible. Until the victim is treated, the injured person should be cooled by cold water and ice cubes in the armpit and groin area.
