Washington (dpa) - According to US scientists, more than five million people worldwide have been shown to be infected with the novel virus since the start of the corona pandemic. This came from data from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
According to this, around 328,000 people have already died after being infected with the corona virus. Almost every third infection has been detected in the United States.
The researchers' website is updated regularly with incoming data and therefore shows a higher level than the official figures of the World Health Organization (WHO). In some cases, however, the numbers have recently been revised downwards. Experts assume that the number of unreported cases is high.
