The Chinese parliament, largely won over to the Communist Party, will be seized in the coming days of a law on the "protection of national security" in Hong Kong, a senior parliamentary official announced Thursday.
This legislation will be studied during the annual session of the National People's Congress (ANP) which opens Friday in Beijing. It plans to strengthen the "enforcement mechanisms" on the subject in the semi-autonomous territory, shaken in 2019 by sometimes violent demonstrations against Beijing.
