As a result, the police were alerted by several zoom partners because the victim was no longer visible. On the local news site "Newsday", an official said that participants in the video conference "only saw how he fell out of the picture  and then they heard him breathing hard ." The police did not immediately locate the victim's house because the witnesses could not give an exact address.

The urgently suspected son, who is said to have fled the window after the crime, was arrested shortly afterwards . The 32-year-old had suffered minor injuries when he fell out of the window. The suspect was treated in a hospital and released shortly afterwards, a motive for his gruesome act is not yet known. The suspect told a reporter that his father had mistreated him. "He raped me with a gun ... two nights ago, " the 32-year-old told a reporter.
