A resident of Japan heard a sob near his house, thinking he had found a puppy - but discovered it was something else entirely • The story ended with a sweet and sour taste

When Mercy heard the whine as he strolled by his house in Japan, he was sure he had encountered a sweet dog puppy and decided to adopt it. He even found her there - Luna. 

But after posting Luna's photo on Twitter, in order to track down her former owners if she was lost, he discovered that it was not actually a puppy - with many surfers stating that it was actually a fox.

After the reactions on the Internet, Mercy decided to make sure it was a vet at a vet - but there, along with the surprise that it was a fox, the vet had bad news, which broke Mercy's heart.

According to the veterinarian, foxes are a protected animal in Japan, and Mercy had to say goodbye to a kennel and return to farm and grow wild foxes, when from there she would be released into the wild.
