A traffic sign near the new roundabout in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn brings the residents to the barricades. It's high on the net - and now the authorities are reacting.
Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn - A clear view of the Friedenseiche has had significantly fewer residents of Münchner Straße in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn since the beginning of May. The reason for this is a large traffic sign, which the Freising State Building Authority ordered to be built by the district office on Münchner Strasse at the level of the Göhler car park.
According to the spokeswoman for the district office, Christine Spiegel, it is a "signpost that is absolutely necessary for traffic control" and indicates the new roundabout on the Friedenseiche at a sufficient distance.
Too big: residents protest, authorities promise new sign
For some citizens, however, the new traffic sign is not well received. A real dispute has broken out on social networks. Among other things, there is talk of "official madness" and "imposition". The critics are particularly bothered by the dimensions of the masts and shield.
Spiegel emphasizes that the signpost in terms of design, i.e. size and font, complies with the applicable guidelines. However, since there are problems on site due to the size, a narrower sign with a narrow cap was ordered in the meantime. According to Spiegel, it should be delivered in about three to four weeks. An end to the "Schildbürger dispute" is in sight.
