Starnberg / Dießen - A heavy thunderstorm hit the Starnberg district in the early Saturday afternoon. As announced, further thunderstorms with heavy rain, partly hail (as in parts of Starnberg) and gusts of wind follow into the evening.

The first storm moved at 60 to 70 km / h towards Grünwald across the northern circle and brought strong gusts and hail. Several trees fell over. At the Ammersee some boats were torn off and drifted away. On Starnberger See a sailboat got into trouble in front of Feldafing. At least two standup paddlers had to be rescued, plus canoeists. Water guards and DLRG were in action, as was the water protection police. No information was available in the afternoon about injuries.

The storm around 2:30 p.m. almost formed out of nowhere and within 15 minutes over Herrsching - there it had little effect - and quickly moved east between Starnberg and Gauting. According to data from the kachelmannwetter.de website, it gained strength on the way - it hailed lightly over Starnberg and already strongly over Grünwald. There were more than 200 lightning bolts over the circle in ten minutes. The severe weather warnings are valid until at least 8 p.m.
