He was a family man, was very involved in the church and loved nature. Now Kaspar Stanner from Sinsöd has passed away at the age of 94.

Sinsöd - The communities Buch and Forstern have lost an extremely committed Christian and lovable farmer. Kaspar Stanner from Sinsöd (Buch municipality) died unexpectedly on April 17 due to old age. He was 94 years old. A long and full life lies behind him.

In 1925, Stanner, whom many only knew as Eder Kaspar or Eder's father, was born in Sinsöd as the third of four children. The family still has ties to two congregations due to his place of residence: the district originally belonged to Buch, but from a church perspective the Stanners were assigned to the parish of Forstern-Tading.

Happiness in misfortune in World War II

After attending the Bucher school, Kaspar Stanner had to go to war. A comrade's misfortune was luck for him in misfortune. When cleaning the rifle, a shot was released and hit the young booker's foot, so that he came to the hospital. When he was completely recovered, the Second World War was almost over.

A few years later, Stanner met Theresa Lechner while dancing in Isen. They married in 1958 and enjoyed a long happy marriage. It wasn't until July 2018 that they celebrated their diamond wedding with their loved ones. The couple had four children - Martin, Josef, Gertraud and Elfriede. Finally, eight grandchildren delighted the pensioner. The family was always very important to Kaspar Stanner, report his eldest son Martin and his wife Anni.

He took over farming from his parents as a young man

As a young man, Stanner took over his parents' farm in Sinsöd. The focus was on dairy farming, but chickens, pigs or horses also lived on the farm. In addition to nature, the 94-year-old has always been interested in butterflies and birds. He collected caterpillars, supported them during the winter and released them as butterflies in the spring. His son Martin and daughter-in-law Anni now take care of the farm. Despite his advanced age, Stanner was still active in the barn until he was 90.

The farmer was also very active in social life. He received the Golden Badge of Honor for his engagement with the Buch-Reithofen gardening association. Stanner used to take care of video documentation during his annual trips. He had been with the Tading shooting club since 1953 and was made an honorary member there. After the war he also joined the Buch Warrior and Soldier Association and most recently the Marian Congregation for Men.

Kaspar Stanner was very involved in the parish of Forstern-Tading

Stanner was very active in the parish of Forstern-Tading. He was not only a member of the former parish committee, the forerunner of the parish council. For about 30 years he was part of the church administration and took over the office of church nurse until 1994. In 2009 he received the medal of honor from the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising.

Stanner describes the parish as a very committed and helpful Christian, who accompanied several renovation measures. “For us, he was not just a reliable advisor on many questions. His craftsmanship and his tireless energy were also exemplary for us, ”wrote the church administration Forstern-Tading in an obituary in the parish letter.

The Christmas tree in the Tadingen church was particularly important to him

For several decades, it was also a special concern of the 94-year-old that the Tadingen church received a beautiful Christmas tree at Christmas. Until a few years ago, these always came from Sinsöder's own farm, reports daughter-in-law Anni.

The current corona crisis prevented the farmer's large circle of friends from being able to say goodbye with dignity. The Stanners were very happy about the sympathy of many club friends and acquaintances who thought of the deceased with flower arrangements. The family would like to make up the funeral service in Tading as soon as possible.
