Eight workers were killed after a crane collapsed at a construction site in southern China today.
"A scaffold fell in one of the buildings under construction in Guangdong Province, killing eight workers on the spot, after efforts to save them failed and one worker was slightly injured," the Xinhua news agency quoted local authorities as saying.
The authorities indicated that they had launched investigations to find out the causes of the accident.
