President Alberto Fernández presented this Saturday the new preventive and compulsory social isolation scheme that seeks to slow down the coronavirus march in Argentina.

The head of state made the announcement from the Olivos residence, where he discussed the situation earlier with the governors of the provinces most affected by the pandemic.

In the last extension notice, on May 8, Fernández had decided that the AMBA zone should continue in phase 3 of the isolation, since it is the region with the highest circulation of the virus and number of infections, while the rest of the country went to the next phase of quarantine, 4.

The social, preventive and compulsory isolation, in the phases arranged for each area according to the doubling time of the cases, will end on May 24, so the government will decide the modality in which it will be extended according to the evolution of the pandemic. .

As officially reported, Fernández spoke -in a virtual way- with the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta; the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof; the one from Córdoba, Juan Schiaretti; from Chaco, Jorge Capitanich; and from Río Negro, Arabela Carreras.

The quarantine was ordered on March 20 and was renewed on March 31, April 12, April 27, and the last time on May 11, until tomorrow, Sunday the 24th of this month.
