Commenting on what was circulated by the closure of the port of Tartous after suspicion that one of the Russian side was infected with the Corona virus, Minister of Health Dr. Nizar Yazigi explained that the subject is not that way, but that when conducting an examination of one of the elements of the Russian side at the port, he gave a positive result and an accuracy rate of 70%.
In a statement to SANA, Minister Yazji added that, due to the Ministry of Health’s concern for workers ’health and public health for the people, the workers were prevented from leaving the port until the examinations of all those involved in the suspected case were conducted. The results of all workers’ tests were negative and they were allowed to go out to their homes.
He pointed out that the port is operating normally and a second PCR test of the suspected case will be conducted tomorrow to confirm or deny that it has infected the virus.
