The Nigerian Ministry of Defense announced today that at least 135 militants were killed and several others were wounded in army operations northwest of the country.
"According to intelligence operations and within its operations targeting armed gangs and criminal elements, air strikes have targeted militants in several locations in the northwestern states of Zamfara and Katsina since last Wednesday, resulting in 135 of them were killed and many others were wounded.
Nigeria has been suffering from the Boko Haram terrorist group's insurgency for more than a decade in the country's northeast, in addition to repeated armed attacks in the northwest.
