An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck southern Mexico today, without reports of casualties or damage.
The Xinhua News Agency quoted the US Geological Survey as saying that the earthquake struck an area 122 km southwest of the city of Mapastepec, and its center was determined at a depth of 35 km at 14,6969 degrees north of latitude and 93,532.9 degrees west of longitude.
And an earlier earthquake measuring 5.5 degrees south of the central Atlantic coast hit a depth of 10 km at 47 4139 degrees south of the latitude and 12.2226 degrees west of the longitude.
