Update from May 23, 2020, 10.02 a.m .: After a SEK mission on Friday evening in Munich, there are now further details. As the police announced on Saturday , a man in a dispute threatened an employee in a Munich store with a "weapon-like object" and thus triggered the SEK operation.
The employee is said to have initially asked the 26-year-old to leave the shop. The reason for this is not yet known. The man reportedly threatened the employee with the object. He left the shop shortly thereafter.
The immediately alarmed police were able to find the 26-year-old in his apartment through clues . Since officials had seen the man at the window with a "deceptively real-looking weapon", the special task force was called in on the mission. The SEC succeeded in arresting the man and securing the "weapon-like object".
As the police explain on Saturday, according to initial knowledge, it is a so-called airsoft weapon, a compressed air weapon . It should look very similar to a real firearm .
