Without the corona crisis, the six locations, which according to an analysis had the lowest customer frequency of the previous 18 branches and where less than ten percent of the customers of VR Bank Werdenfels are at home, could have existed for a few years. "Corona naturally accelerated development," explains Beller. According to him, the difficult market environment created by the European Central Bank's (ECB) low interest rate policy has further intensified with the pandemic. "The economic constraints leave us with no choice." It would not have been fair to members to delay this decision. Nothing changes for the ten employees.
