President Alberto Fernández raised on Thursday the need to "build a fairer country" when the coronavirus pandemic passes and denied that his government wants to "keep companies" and "punish the wealthy."

"Everything is turned around and we are governing. Let's not miss the opportunity to build a fairer country. A fairer system is not to persecute anyone, nor those crazy ideas that we want to stay with companies and punish the wealthy. No, we want a fairer country, "said Fernández during a press conference in Formosa.

He said it on his first visit as president to that province. He will also visit Misiones to inaugurate works and sign agreements, on his second trip to the interior of the country in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

He also referred to the discussion of a possible tax reform and considered that "it is wrong" to charge "income tax" to those who "live on a salary" and "must be corrected."

"I say let's discuss all of that. Like many others, when I see the part of income tax contributed by those who live on a salary, I say this is wrong, and it must be corrected. Let's not look for culprits. It is wrong and it must be corrected", insisted.

The head of state, who last Thursday started a series of visits to provinces with tours of Santiago del Estero and Tucumán, traveled accompanied by the first lady, Fabiola Yáñez, and the ministers of Territorial Development and Habitat, María Eugenia Bielsa; of the Interior, Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro; of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, and of Agriculture, Luis Basterra.

Fernández, who arrived in Formosa after noon, toured the Sports Center of the Cinquantenaire, which was conditioned in the framework of the pandemic to function as the Covid-19 Contingency Care Center.

The Stadium was set up with 240 beds and all the necessary sanitary equipment for the eventual care and monitoring of mild and moderate patients who do not require complex medical support.

Later, the head of state will go to the Odontological Hospital of Integrated Complexity, located opposite Evita, where agreements for public works and other government areas will be signed, and a press conference with the Formosan governor is scheduled.

Later, in Posadas, Fernández and Governor Oscar Herrera Ahuad will develop a busy agenda that will begin with an event related to local agricultural production, at the Convention and Events Center.

Afterwards, the President and the first lady will visit a craft products fair, after which the procession will visit the Health Unit for unimpeachable, located on the premises of the Ramón Carrillo Mental Health Hospital, whose building was planned to cover the needs health of people considered unimpeachable by missionary justice.

Some 52 unimputable inmates from Criminal Unit 1 will be housed in this Unit, which make up the risk group within the framework of the pandemic.

Misiones has 25 confirmed cases of coronavirus and one death.

Subsequently, Fernández and Herrera Ahuad will visit the hospitalization rooms, the obstetric center and the operating room of the Maternal and Neonatal Hospital Level III.

Finally, Fernández will sign at the Governor Herrera Ahuad's Residence a series of agreements, after which both will give a press conference.
