The local council in Taufkirchen has rejected a new building instead of the old one.

Taufkirchen - Mayor Ullrich Sander (independent) hoped that an eyesore would finally disappear in town - the old smithy on Tölzer Straße. But at the most recent meeting of the construction committee, disillusionment quickly followed: Because in the end, no one approved the plans for a new building that the owner presented.

The building application provided for a building with 14 apartments and a restaurant on the ground floor, including an underground car park with a car lift - and at first glance it seemed perfectly acceptable except for minor deviations. But then Peter Hofbauer (free voters) calculated before the committee that, according to the current parking lot statutes, ten bicycle parking spaces and 17 parking spaces are missing in the plan. "And even the parking spaces, which are included, sometimes appear to be unreliable when you take a closer look," says Hofbauer. The problem: there is hardly any parking space in this corner. "Neither the butcher's shop nor the Trenner inn have parking spaces," says Hofbauer. He also doubted that visitors would use the car lift. The free voters therefore rejected the project. So did the SPD, although "we would all be happy if something went on at this point," said Matteo Dolce.

Hildegard Riedmaier (CSU) also found it “intolerable when it comes to the parking spaces”. "We ourselves have given up living space in favor of parking spaces on Riegerweg," said Alfred Widmann (SPD). He did not see why one should now dispense with parking spaces at "a restaurant that Kanibalimus operates at the other companies". And Beatrice Brückmann (ILT) found the building "much too massive" anyway. The building application was rejected unanimously.
