LFI deputies denounce on Friday the " multiplication " of " police violence " since the establishment of the state of health emergency and " urge the Prime Minister to act " faced with " this deleterious situation ", in a letter addressed to Edouard Philippe .
According to the Insoumis, " several people died following confinement checks in often troubled circumstances " and " situations of violence have multiplied, in Ulis, in Lilas, in Villeneuve-La-Garenne, in Lille, in Roubaix, in Tourcoing, in Marseille ”.

The parliamentary group LFI is also indignant " recordings of racist insults and laughter mixed with the cries of pain of a man arrested after having thrown himself into the Seine to escape the police ". A reference to an arrest on the night of April 25 to 26 in L'Ile-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), where a video, published on social networks, allows one to hear the racist comments of police officers - two have since been suspended - then cries of pain, presented as those of the person arrested, accompanied by laughter seeming to emanate from the officials.

In this case, the man arrested, Samir, an undocumented worker of Egyptian nationality and currently unemployed, filed a complaint against X. He claims to have been subjected to violence and, according to his lawyer, was thrown into the Seine "out of fear ". The rebels demand " emergency measures " to restore " a relationship of trust and benevolence " between police and citizens. They propose in particular the establishment of " identity control receipts ", " the demilitarization of equipment " by prohibiting " LBD ", and the association of " local authorities " or " neighborhood committees " with police patrols .
