A Belgian national was shot dead late Friday night near his home in Athens, Greek police said on Saturday, suspected of an act committed by hitmen.
According to state agency ANA, two men on a motorcycle approached the victim, described as a businessman in the commerce sector, and shot him in the head.

The man was taken to hospital and pronounced dead, police said.
The crime took place in the wealthy Voula seaside suburb.
When questioned, the Belgian Embassy in Athens declined to comment.
