More than 6 million cases of new coronavirus have been officially recorded worldwide, two thirds of them in Europe and the United States, according to a count made by AFP from official sources on Saturday 30 May.

At least 6,000,867 cases of infection, among which 366,848 deaths, have been recorded, especially in Europe, the continent most affected with 2,135,170 cases and 177,595 deaths, and in the United States, the country which deplores the highest number confirmed cases (1,760,740) and death (103,472). But it is now in Latin America that the virus is progressing most rapidly, with an increase of more than 45,000 cases in the last 24 hours for a total of 944,695 cases and 49,230 deaths.
