Demonstrations across the United States are escalating following the murder of African American citizen George Floyd by a white police officer • In Minnesota, where the incident happened, the National Guard was mobilized in full force - for the first time since World War II "

Protests over George Floyd's death are only mounting: at least 30 cities across the United States are protesting, some extremely violent. The state of Minnesota, where the protest began, has fully enlisted the National Guard, a measure that has not been taken since World War II.

President Donald Trump said military police are also ready to reach the area "very quickly." The president added: "Our army is ready, determined and capable, if they want to call it." He said things on his way to Florida, where he will be watching the SpaceX spacecraft launch to the International Space Station.

The killing of George Floyd by the Minneapolis Police Department has sparked racial controversy again in US hotlines, from New York to Washington, through Chicago, California and more. And has taken many residents to the streets. The policeman who choked Floyd to death was arrested yesterday and charged with murder, but even now there is no tranquility, and protests are escalating.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry said that most violent protesters are not city residents, but people who exploit the situation and are passionate about hatred. "He added," It's no longer about demonstration, it's violence and we need to make sure it stops.

The Minnesota National Guard is made up of more than 13,000 troops, according to the 2019 Annual Report. Military police units are also on alert. According to Fox News, at least one New York unit is on high alert and is ready to deploy Four hours if needed.

Across the country, reports of fires, arson, looting and smashing of windows came as they read "I Can't Breathe," Floyd's latest words that became a slogan. In Portland, Oregon, crowds shattered the city's "Justice Center" glasses, setting the scene on fire.

In Oakland, California, one police officer was reportedly killed in the shooting, presumably by protesters. Police in San Jose shot a SUV trying to run over protesters. "Everyone was trying to chase the vehicle but it was already moving away," said protester Sol Duterte, who filmed the video. "Then they all surrounded the two injured and tried to help."

"It's murder, what the hell is going on with us in the United States?"

In New York, rioters set fire to a police van - hundreds were arrested. In Michigan, a 19-year-old boy was killed in a shooting that happened near a large rally in Cadillac Square. Violent clashes are also happening outside the White House in Washington, DC.

"The arrest of police officer Derek Chauvin for the brutal killing of George Floyd is a welcome step but it is too late," the Floyd family's lawyer said yesterday. "We expect to be charged with first-degree murder. We want to see the other officers who were on the scene arrested."
